About Year 1

We have two classes in Year 1, Husky class and Dalmatian class.

Year 1 is a very important year for our children as it is their transition from foundation stage to key stage 1. We make this as easy as possible for the children by including lots of time for independent learning during their day.

We study many exciting topics including Monsters and Giants, Super Heroes, Living and Growing and Space. Our  World is our summer topic in which we study Africa and the Seaside. All of these topics are cross curricular and link into all numeracy and literacy lessons, science and humanities. We also make several educational visits throughout the year to enhance the children’s learning experience.

PE Lessons:

  • Monday or Thursday and Tuesday

  • Every Term

  • Dalmatian class - Tuesday / Husky class - Friday
