About Year 2 Classes
We have two classes in Year 2, Spaniel Class and Labrador Class.
Year 2 is a very special year for our children as they are the oldest in the school. They work very hard throughout the year to develop and build on their skills so they can achieve their best in the Year 2 assessments in the summer term.
We study many exciting topics including a science based topic Bright Ideas, the children learn all about electrical safety and how to build circuits. We also study a geography based topic Home and Away where we look at different places both in the United Kingdom and abroad. A history based topic on The Great Fire of London and we also look at some Amazing Animals. All of these topics are cross curricular and link into all numeracy and literacy lessons. We also make several educational visits throughout the year to enhance the children’s learning experience.
